Ramadan Day 9 - Make Me Among Those Who are Always Grateful
March 31, 2023
Much of today was governed by 3 ayahs in Juz 10 of the Qur’an that left me feeling ever so hopeful and grateful to Allah. And realizing how merciful and generous Allah has been to me. That nothing is ever a coincidence except that which He has decreed.
“O Prophet! Allah is sufficient for you and for the believers who follow you.” [8:64]
“˹It does not matter˺ if you ˹believers˺ do not support him, for Allah did in fact support him when the disbelievers drove him out ˹of Mecca˺ and he was only one of two. While they both were in the cave, he reassured his companion, “Do not worry, for Allah is certainly with us.” So Allah sent down His serenity upon the Prophet, supported him with forces you ˹believers˺ did not see, and made the word of the disbelievers lowest, while the Word of Allah is supreme. And Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.” [9:40]
“Say, “Nothing will ever befall us except what Allah has destined for us. He is our Protector.” So in Allah let the believers put their trust.” [9:51]
(Allah almighty has spoken the truth - ﺻﺪﻕ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﺍﻟﻌﻈﻴﻢ)
The day closed out with something Shaykha Dr. Haifaa Younis said during Juz 10 episode of Qur’an 30 for 30. It captured so beautifully what I was feeling for most of the day
“Ya Rabb, I am not worthy but You’re ever so generous so do not deprive me and make me among those who are always grateful.”
I pray may Allah never deprive me of His generosity and make He make me a grateful servant. Allahumma Amin ya Rabb.
With love,
