Ramadan Day 15 - A Du’a

April 6, 2023

Ramadan has come and is leaving as quickly as it came. I can’t believe we’ve crossed the half way point. Alhamdulilah for making it this far. My du’a today - Ya Rahman, the most merciful, have mercy upon me. Ya Rahman Your mercy is perfect and all inclusive such that you grant your mercy to both the worthy and unworthy.

Ya Allah I am unworthy of your mercy, I am simply human, Ya Rahman have mercy on me not because I deserve it but because You tell us not to despair in Your mercy that You respond to the caller when he calls upon You. Ya Allah I am calling upon You - allow this Ramadan to be one where I earn Your love and sincerely get to know You. Ya Allah grant me goodness in this world and in the hereafter and protect me from the punishment of the fire. Ya Allah You are Al-Afuw, The Forgiver, You love to forgive so forgive me.

Ya Rabb through Your limitless mercy and gentleness You chose me to take the Qur’an as my companion this month, Ya Kareem allow it to be a cure and calm for my heart, rest for my tired eyes and food for my soul, Ya Rabb illuminate my life with the Qur’an. Ya Hadi, Ya Rashid You’re the one who guides, use it to guide me. Thank You, all praise and thanks belong to You for showering me with this priceless guidance of faith. No matter how far I move from You, You have always gently, subtly and kindly led me back to you over again. Do not take away this sweetness of faith You have allowed me to taste Ya Latif. Ya Allah keep me firm on Your path.

Ya Wadud let me love the Qur’an the way it deserves to be loved and honor it the way it deserves honor. Allow me to find comfort in it in my weakest and most vulnerable moments, Ya Noor grant me the light of the Qur’an, the companionship of the Qur’an not just in this world but especially in my grave and in the hereafter. Allow it to be a witness and an intercessor for me on the day of recompense. Grant me knowledge of the Qur’an so I may eventually teach it and allow me to recite it with ease. With Your beautiful names, I pray. Amin

With love,
Ibtisam
