Ramadan Day 16 - Al-Latif (The Most Gentle, The Subtle)

April 7, 2023

More and more I am starting to notice the manifestations of Allah being Al-Latif (The Most Gentle, The Subtle) in my own life. SubhanAllah the more I reflect on this beautiful name of His and the more I call upon Him with it, it becomes apparent to me the subtle ways in which Allah has been there for me.

“Indeed my Lord is subtle in fulfilling what He will, surely He alone is All-knowing, All-wise.” [12:100].

Whether it was through an answer to a du’a I made, a change in a situation I was in, an interaction with someone, good news on a difficult day, or help through a person He sends my way. I honestly could not count them all even if I tried. Allah has truly been generous.

“If you tried to count Allah’s blessings, you would never be able to number them. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [16:18].

There are truly no favors of Allah we can deny. May Allah always make me among those who show gratitude. There is such an unexplainable comfort I find in knowing Allah is Al-Latif. It takes away the worry and anxiety of having to rely on myself and my limited human ability. I am comforted by the knowing that whether or not I am aware or notice it, Allah through His generosity and gentleness is always subtly taking care of my affairs. Alhamdulilah.

Ya Allah Ya Latif, You are The Subtle One, The Most Gentle. You are most knowledgeable of the most subtle details of my life, Your actions are so fine and subtle that I may fail to understand but You continue to bestow favors that are finely suited to my needs, may You be exalted, all praise and thanks belong to You. Ya Rabb allow me to love You and be grateful to You for You have been gentle and kind to me in ways that I don’t even realize. Ya Rabb do not turn me away from You even in my hardships, for I know that through Your mercy and Subtlety even in my hardships there is goodness for me. Amin

“How could He not know His Own creation? For He ˹alone˺ is the Most Subtle, All-Aware.” [67:14]

With love,
Ibtisam
