Allah Has A Beloved for Everyone

October 2, 2023

On my daily walk with mama today, we saw a lady with her daughter, who could not be no more than 10 or12 years old. They were walking their tiny little dog, can’t really tell what breed it was but it was of the smaller size kind. We watched as the young girl looked at her dog every now and then with loving eyes.

As we walked behind them, mama then said:

“SubhanAllah even this little dog has someone who loves it dearly. No matter who you are, what you are or how you are, there is always someone for you. Our Lord Gafur-u-Rahim (oft-forgiving, most merciful), He has a beloved for everyone no matter who, what or how they are.”

I stayed silent for a few minutes as we walked, taking in what mama had just said. I was in complete awe of how easily mama was able to arrive at such a profound insight just from watching a young girl lovingly walk her little dog. But then again, that was nothing new because that is who mama is, may Allah preserve her. Everything for her always led back to Allah. She saw His mercy even in the most mundane and largely regarded insignificant things.

Surprisingly, I was comforted by this moment. “Allah has a beloved for me.” If you are reading this, mama and I want you to know Allah Al-Gafur, Ar-Rahim has a beloved for you, no matter who, what or how you think of yourself. Allah loves you and has someone made for you who loves you.

“A man asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment) saying, "When will the Hour be?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "Nothing, except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You will be with those whom you love." [Sahih al-Bukhari 3688]

Ya Allah Ya Rahman, there is no one I know who loves You and Rasul ﷺ more than mama. Ya Rahman grant her the honor of being with Her beloveds. And I, ya Rabb love her for Your sake so I ask that from Your mercy You grant me the honor of being with her and her beloveds. Ya Rahman bring joy to her eyes through me in this world and make me a source of reward for her in the hereafter. Ya Rabb rectify me and my actions and bless me and bless her. Amin.

With Love, Ibtisam
